Heather M. Ward is a freelance artist concentrating in illustration, fine art and web design.
Mrs. Ward’s love for art began at a young age. In the eighth grade, she had a piece entered into an art show and won an art award from the school the same year. This began her passion for art. She followed her interest but concentrated mostly in pencil sketches.
Before pursuing an art career, Mrs. Ward was employed at Los Alamos National Laboratory for two years. She received a master’s degree in applied math in 2002 from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. In 2000, she earned a bachelor of science in math and physics from RPI as well.
As an artist, Mrs. Ward concentrates on animals with a primary medium of charcoal. She is also beginning to experiment with colored pencils and pyrography.
